WIP Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! I’m checking in with another peek at my current works in progress.

Improv Curves

Every spare moment I have, I’ve been adding a couple more strips…

And one is done!

I’m pleased with how it turned out, and I plan on making one more 24×36″ panel and a third that will be a little smaller, about 16×20″ for the three frames I want to hang in our living room. I’m still not sure if I want to frame the pieces just like this, or if I want to add a backing and some quilting (or maybe just some embroidery without a backing?). I’m so used to doing quilts that “just” a panel of fabric doesn’t feel finished, but maybe framing it will help. I’m going to make the other 2 pieces first before deciding.

Music City MQG 2020 Sampler Quilt

After getting all my fabric selected, I started working on the center block. I had a flash of inspiration to use an ABC panel that I’ve been saving to add the letter J in the center so this can be a quilt for Jon, similar to the Round Robin quilt my guild helped put together in 2017 that started with the letter A for Amelia. I’m so pleased that the colors already work and now I’m even more excited to keep going!

Dear House cross stitch

The best thing about cross stitch is that it’s so portable! Last week I brought this project to a friend’s house while she painted and our younger kids played; it was one of those moments (which can feel few and far between) where I felt like I was exactly where I wanted to be doing exactly what I wanted to do.

That’s all for now!
