Wednesday again! Time for another weekly update on my current works in progress.
Happy Birthday Jon
With one month to go, I’m trying to make more progress on this one but I’m honestly more interested in using my time to sew instead of cross stitch. So we’ll see if I manage to finish in time! I finished the main part and now I’m working on the smaller motifs, borders, and lettering.
Jelly Rainbow Quilt
My birthday present to myself was a jelly roll of Speckled, the new line by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society. I spent the last week sewing together strips of rainbow colors and it was (literally) the bright spot of my days, during a very heavy week. I am using this free pattern and their Instagram Sew Along posts have been very helpful for tips on fabric placement (even with a photo it was hard to find exactly the right shade! But I did my best and didn’t worry too much if a couple were off) and chain piecing.
I am slowly working on testing my friend’s quilt pattern, but I finally made some good progress and should have it finished soon! It is pushing my skill set with lots of curved piecing but is turning out so cute!
That’s all for now!
